Summers in Alabama can be hot, humid, and downright exhausting if you’re not prepared. At Stopwatch Urgent Care, we want you to enjoy all that summer has to offer—without letting the heat slow you down.
Here are a few quick tips to help you stay cool and safe all season long:
💧 Drink Plenty of Water
Don’t wait until you’re thirsty—drink water throughout the day to stay ahead of dehydration. Avoid sugary sodas and energy drinks, which can make it worse in the heat.
🌳 Take Shade Breaks
If you’re outside for long periods, especially during peak heat hours (10 AM–4 PM), make time to rest in the shade or indoors to let your body cool off.
🧴 Use Sunscreen Regularly
Apply sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher and reapply every 2 hours, especially if you’re swimming or sweating. Don’t forget those easy-to-miss spots like your ears, nose, and feet.
👕 Dress for the Weather
Wear light-colored, loose-fitting clothes that help your body breathe. A wide-brimmed hat and sunglasses are smart additions, too!
🕶️ Don’t Push It
Alabama heat can sneak up on you. If you feel dizzy, lightheaded, or just off—slow down and cool off. Rest and hydration can make a big difference.
